Events Navy women have held their own against stiff competition from RAAF and Army for many years, and the Navy Nordic Skiing and Biathlon Association (NNSBA) wants to attract more women to the sport. In order to increase and build on the success that Navy’s women have had in the past, an NNSBA Women’s Development Camp (WDC) will be conducted at Mount Hotham national biathlon arena over the period 14-17 Jul 23 with an additional half day travel allocated for those from Sydney and Nowra regions, as well as nominations from further afield.

The NNSBA WDC aims to encourage women to try the exciting sport of Nordic biathlon in a supportive environment. The camp will also be available to improve the skills of all current Navy women biathletes. A clear and measurable outcome will be increased participation, skills and leadership of navy women at the annual ADF biathlon championships. This will be the most valued contribution to strengthening the RAN team and enabling the sport to flourish well into the future.

All participants, beginner or experienced, will be provided with all necessary clothing and equipment as well as instruction from qualified coaching staff. All attendees will be considered on duty from 0600 Fri 14 Jul 23 through 2359 Mon 17 Jul 23 and those travelling from further away are on duty from 1200 Thu 13 Jul 23 through 1200 Tues 18 Jul 23.

If you are ready for this challenge and to expereince some fun, please complete the nomination form and email to Navy Nordic Sport.
